Winter Ishikura Onion (Allium fistulosum): From Japan, this winter variety is the main ingredient in many traditional dishes because of its wonderful taste. It’s well resistant to cold weather, and can be grown in pots or on the ground, ready in 75 days. It gets to be about 60 cm, and can be consumed even small since its particular flavour already develops when it is the size of a pencil.

The sowing can be scalated so the harvest is longer. The seed reproduction is quite easy, in spring the plant will produce flowers - a favourite of bees - then the seeds will come, you only need to collect the inflorescence when brown and then sift it.
